Dili – Tmor-Leste || Today, 24 July 2025- UNFPA Timor-Leste partnered with Timor-Leste Adventist International School (TAIS) for a meaningful workshop on 𝐒𝐞𝐱𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐀𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐇) awareness. Over 70 educators participated in this dynamic and engaging session.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to TAIS for the kind invitation and for their commitment to creating safer learning environments. This training was more than just a learning event—it was a moment of shared responsibility. Together, we explored how schools can serve not only as places for education but also as safe and inclusive spaces where violence, abuse, and discrimination are never tolerated—whether between teachers and students or among peers and colleagues..
Teachers were empowered with practical strategies to prevent, identify, and respond to SEAH, and to promote a culture of accountability, equality and dignity while also reinforcing the importance of safe and accountable spaces in classrooms, schools, and communities.
Everyone has a responsibility to promote a culture of safety. The active participation and strong engagement throughout the workshop demonstrated a collective commitment to prevention, awareness, and zero tolerance for any form of exploitation or abuse. Educators play a frontline role in both protecting students and creating a culture of accountability in the educational setting
