On Monday, April 21, 2025, the TAIS High School Department joyfully kicked off its Language Week Celebration with a meaningful opening program held in the Auditorium. The week aims to celebrate the richness of languages, cultures, and faith within the school community.
The event began with a devotional led by Teacher Elga Hajo, who delivered a powerful message on the theme: “Our Value in Christ Never Changes.” Her message reminded students and faculty alike that no matter where we come from or what language we speak, our worth remains rooted in Christ. In a beautiful display of unity, students of various descents translated the message into their native languages, allowing everyone to experience the message through different cultural lenses.
Rachel Jecriff served as the emcee, guiding the audience through the program with confidence and enthusiasm. The event was opened in prayer by Teacher Godwin, setting a reverent and hopeful tone for the celebration.
The Ambassadors Club added a special musical touch, offering a heartfelt special number and leading both the opening and closing songs, filling the auditorium with an atmosphere of worship and praise.
Following the devotional, Teacher Mary Jean D. Rubio officially declared the start of Language Week with an opening statement. She then outlined the exciting lineup of activities and presentations that will run throughout the week until Thursday—promising opportunities for students to showcase their linguistic talents, cultural pride, and creativity.
With such a powerful and inclusive start, TAIS’ Language Week is sure to be a celebration to remember—highlighting not just the diversity of tongues, but the unity of hearts.
